Therapy Services
Healing at Your Own Pace
Trauma-informed virtual care for individuals, couples, and families in Kentucky and Ohio.
At Phoenix Bloom Therapy, we provide individualized, trauma-informed, and family-centered therapeutic services for adults, couples, caregivers, and families. Our approach integrates specialized clinical training, professional experience, and systemic therapeutic principles to address emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.
Therapy for Trauma | EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Trauma-focused therapy utilizing EMDR to help individuals process distressing experiences, reduce trauma-related symptoms, and develop healthier emotional responses. As an EMDR-trained clinician pursuing certification, I integrate this approach with attention to emotional stabilization, client readiness, and individualized treatment goals.
Therapy for Grief | IADC
Induced After-Death Communication
Grief-focused therapy incorporating IADC, an EMDR-derived approach used to explore emotional experiences associated with bereavement, connection, and meaning-making. Treatment respects each individual's grieving process, personal beliefs, and emotional readiness without promising a particular experience or outcome.
Overcoming Addictions | CBT, DBT & Harm Reduction
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy & Family Systems Approaches
Drawing upon seven years of clinical training and experience in substance use disorder treatment, addiction counseling integrates CBT, DBT, motivational strategies, harm reduction, and systemic approaches. Treatment addresses substance use patterns, emotional regulation, relapse prevention, recovery planning, and the effects of addiction on family relationships. Services emphasize individualized recovery goals, personal autonomy, and continuity of care.
Behavioral Couples Therapy (BCT) may be included in a recovery plan when a partner is willing to participate, bringing the relationship into the work rather than treating substance use in isolation.
Couples Therapy | EFT
Emotionally Focused Therapy & Behavioral Couples Therapy
Couples therapy informed by Level One training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based approach that examines emotional connection and recurring relationship patterns. Treatment focuses on strengthening communication, increasing emotional responsiveness, addressing relational distress, and developing more secure connections.
Behavioral Couples Therapy (BCT) is also offered for couples when substance use is part of the picture. BCT is an evidence-based approach that invites a partner to take an active, supportive role in recovery, focusing on sobriety-supporting daily routines, clear communication, and rebuilding trust.
Family Therapy | Systemic Trauma-Informed Care
Systemic Family Therapy & Trauma-Informed Approaches
Family therapy integrates systemic and trauma-informed approaches to understand how individual experiences, relationships, and environmental influences shape family functioning. Treatment addresses communication patterns, boundaries, trust, relational distress, and the effects of addiction, serious mental illness, trauma, and chronic illness. Services emphasize collaborative safety planning, healthier family interactions, and opportunities for meaningful connection.
Recovery-focused family work draws on the same behavioral and systemic principles used in Behavioral Couples Therapy (BCT), engaging the people closest to a client in support, safety planning, and follow-through.
Caregiver Support | Individual & Family Systems Therapy
Caregiver-Centered Therapy with a Systemic Family Focus
Specialized therapeutic support for individuals caring for loved ones experiencing addiction, serious mental illness, or chronic illness. Treatment addresses caregiver stress, anticipatory grief, emotional well-being, boundaries, and systemic family safety planning.
Caregivers may receive services independently, regardless of whether their loved one participates in treatment, resides in the home, is hospitalized, incarcerated, or living in another setting. Care focuses on strengthening the caregiver's well-being and capacity to navigate complex family circumstances while maintaining appropriate connections and boundaries.
Targeted Case Management | Kentucky
Care Coordination, Resource Navigation & Continuity of Care
Targeted case management services for eligible individuals in Kentucky requiring assistance navigating behavioral health services and community systems of care. Services may include individualized planning, resource identification, referral coordination, and monitoring access to appropriate services.
When applicable eligibility requirements are met, care coordination may support caregivers navigating complex treatment systems, including compulsory treatment processes, transitions between levels of care, and community-based services.

A Phoenix Bloom Model
Systemic Safety Planning & Harm Reduction Framework (SSP-HR)
The Systemic Safety Planning & Harm Reduction Framework (SSP-HR) is my evolving, groundbreaking model designed to bridge the gap between family systems theory, harm reduction, and trauma-informed crisis intervention in family addiction crisis. Unlike traditional treatment models, SSP-HR offers a multi-track, choice-based roadmap that empowers families to plan for, navigate, and recover from substance use crises with dignity, safety, and collaboration.
This model integrates consultation and therapy pathways, enabling families and clinicians to move fluidly between prevention, observation, legal advocacy, and recovery. Rooted in trauma-informed principles and real-world experience, SSP-HR transforms family crisis response into a coordinated, compassionate system of care.

For Families and Caregivers
When a loved one struggles with substance use, families often feel powerless, unsure how to help, where to turn, or how to stay connected safely.
This trauma-informed, family-centered model helps parents and caregivers build safety, communication, and choice into every stage of crisis, from early warning signs to treatment, legal involvement, or recovery. Through structured therapy, coaching or consultation and support, families learn how to plan, reduce harm, and create a path toward healing together.
Our framework is grounded in professional training and lived experience, informed by direct work in the addictions field since 2016 and shaped by a deep personal understanding of the challenges families face while navigating fragmented systems of care.
Lina’s story continues to guide this mission. Through our family’s experience and my professional background, I came to recognize what is often missing from community-based addiction recovery support: coordinated aftercare, compassionate implementation of compulsory care laws, meaningful family inclusion, and trauma-informed continuity of care.
Phoenix Bloom was founded to help close these gaps, with the hope of offering these essential systemic supports more fully in the future. Through this work, Phoenix Bloom bridges individual healing and family systems recovery, helping clients move from crisis toward connection, stability, and lasting change.
What to Expect
Your first session is an opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, discuss your goals, and consider the support that fits your needs. Tina's work considers your relationships, caregiving responsibilities, and broader health and recovery context.
Individual, couples, and family sessions are offered virtually. Accepted insurance varies across Headway, Grow Therapy, and Dr. Jennifer Hayes and Associates. Confirm your plan with the booking provider before you schedule. Wait lists may apply for families and couples. As a Ph.D. student in Medical Family Therapy, I occasionally need to reschedule sessions for classes.
